Yesterday, I got an great letter from a customer of the gallery. It really lifted my spirits. I would like to share it:

I just read on your blog that you're thinking of closing the gallery after
the Holiday's. I understand the economic reasons why this might happen,
but I'd hate to see you go!

I grew up in Groton and have stopped in several times. I love the
building, love the products, love that GROTON has such a cool shop. I now
live in Summerhill, so it was nice to have such a unique, high quality
shop with locally produced items. Plus, it seemed like it was an ideal
place for small crafters to sell their wares, people that might not
otherwise have an outlet for their work.

Obviously, the economic forecast is terrible right now and that will
probably influence your decision the most. Main Street is an option, but
not nearly as large or unique of a space, though I'm sure the traffic
might be a little better. (Having grown up here, I can say that Groton
isn't the easiest place to start a business. I've seen lots come and go.)

If extra hands might help, let me know. I don't have a lot of free time
to volunteer, but I come through Groton every day after work and only live
15 minutes away.

Good luck with whatever happens, though I do hope you can stay open!

I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! You made my day!

Nancy, I would do anything(just about) to help. Please count on me and the missus. We love your place.

Thanks for visiting my blog and keeping the little man in your thoughts and prayers. I admire any artist who "goes for it" like you have with your gallery. I too think you should stay open if not for yourself, as a beacon of light for those of us "underground" artists who do other things for money and wish we did ART!
